I got an great opportunity to test my own and some test equipment accuracy. I visited at the army 300 meter shooting range with some future articles rifles and scopes. I also tested my own equipment and it was nice to find out that we both are able to less 1 MOA group with 5 shots at 300 meters. Great result with 2.5-10×50 scope. The placement of the group was little low and right due of change in ammunition between aiming and the test shooting.

At the same time I was following how a group of hunters prepared for their safari at Africa. Guys were aiming their sights for long distances at open plains and got some good practice!

The most interesting experience was to take couple of rounds with new 8x super super zoom, Zeiss Victory V8 2.8-20×56.  Blaser R8 6.5×55 and that scope were a match made in heaven at 300 meters. Aiming is easy because of the open viewing angle and the scopes highest 20x magnification works ofcourse well at those distances.

I am starting a new rifle project for long range shooting so lets see whether we need some V8 power!
